There are moments in history when one voice speaks out while others hesitate – and that voice changes everything.
When Donald Trump began threatening tariffs and annexation, undermining international relationships and fanning the flames of division, most leaders stayed silent. But Elizabeth May did not.
She was the first to speak up. She named the danger when others were still calling it a distraction. She acted – not because it was popular, but because it was necessary. That’s what principled leadership looks like. And that’s exactly what we need right now in Canada.
Leadership grounded in principle, not polling
Elizabeth has always been a voice of clarity in moments of confusion. When others have chosen political safety, she’s chosen courage. When others have followed the path of least resistance, she’s walked forward – sometimes alone – because her compass is set by values, not convenience.
We see more and more political discourse in Canada drifting toward anger and division. That’s not who we are. It’s not who we want to be. We need leaders who resist that drift. Leaders who understand that how we treat each other, how we care for this planet, and how we govern should always be rooted in respect, compassion, and justice. Elizabeth brings just that to Parliament. In Saanich–Gulf Islands, a vote for Elizabeth May is not a symbolic gesture. It’s a powerful choice to keep an experienced, deeply trusted voice in Ottawa.
A voice that holds governments accountable, regardless of which party is in power, and that puts the well-being of people and our natural world at the centre of every decision.
The Liberals do not need this riding to form government. But Canada needs Elizabeth. If progressives split their vote here, the risk isn’t just a political shift, it’s the loss of a leader who has consistently stood for what’s right, even when it’s hard.
A Green MP who delivers
Elizabeth has been elected four times in Saanich–Gulf Islands because people know she works tirelessly for her constituents. She listens. She shows up. She acts. From climate action to housing, from protecting our coastlines to advancing healthcare and Indigenous
rights, Elizabeth doesn’t just raise the alarm, she brings forward solutions. She’s delivered concrete results in Saanich–Gulf Islands – securing tens of millions in federal investments for local infrastructure, housing, and environmental remediation.
From $40 million for Ocean Networks at UVic, to $16 million for the Keating overpass, to saving the Plant Health Centre and cleaning up toxic waste in Reay Creek, Elizabeth has delivered more federal dollars to the riding than even her predecessor, a Cabinet minister. In a time when trust in politics is low, Elizabeth is a rare leader who has earned the trust of people across party lines.
We are being asked to choose between fear and hope. Between more of the same – and something better. Elizabeth May has always offered something better. Not just resistance, but renewal. Not just critique, but clarity.
And that’s why I’m asking you to keep her voice in Parliament.
Because when things get tough, Elizabeth doesn’t sit back, she stands up. And in this moment, that kind of leadership isn’t just important. It’s essential.
Let’s choose integrity. Let’s choose experience.
Let’s choose leadership rooted in care for community and country.
Let’s choose Elizabeth May.
