A leader who fights for Canada and our future
SIDNEY, B.C. – Elizabeth May, Member of Parliament for Saanich–Gulf Islands and co-leader of the Green Party of Canada, is asking voters to stand with her, as now, more than ever, Canada needs leaders with integrity, experience, and the courage to speak the truth.
“I have never been in politics to seek power for its own sake. I am running because I believe in Canada, in our democracy, and in the urgent need to protect both our country and our natural world,” said May.
For nearly 15 years, Elizabeth May has been a trusted voice for Saanich–Gulf Islands. In a time of misinformation and political games, she has been a rare source of honesty and accountability – calling out hypocrisy, challenging corporate-driven policies, and always putting her community and principles first.
“We need people in Parliament who will speak truth to power, who will challenge decisions that threaten our environment and democracy,” continued May. “Now more than ever we need accountability in this country. No blank cheque for resource extraction and reckless development. We must build a clean, sustainable economy, not fall back on outdated, destructive industries.”
For those who care about the future of Saanich–Gulf Islands – from our coastlines to our local industries and our communities – supporting Green values is an act of true patriotism: caring for the land, holding leaders accountable, and building a strong, fair economy.
This election is a defining moment for Saanich–Gulf Islands and for Canada. Voters have a choice – politics as usual, or a leader who fights for truth, democracy, and sustainability, a leader with the experience, credibility, and passion to make a difference.
“If you believe in Canada, in our democracy, in protecting both our country and our planet, you can trust me to stand up and fight for you,” said May.
